Why Major in Pre-Medicine?👨⚕️🧬
My name is Shaiel Nahid. I am starting my first
year at RUM majoring in pre-medicine. Science has always piqued my curiosity.
Specifically, medical sciences, biotechnology, biology, and anatomy. When I was little, I used
to announce that I would major in veterinary science. However, I had a change
of heart as middle school began. I began contemplating at a forensic pathology
major, but I had to leave Puerto Rico if I decided to attend the program. As I commenced eighth grade, I
was dazzled by the medical sciences. I haven't changed my mind since then. I
find human anatomy entrancing. Its reaction to the variables that affect our
environment is breathtaking.
Doctors are necessary to preserve human life. They risk everything to prevent the worst. They save and improve the lives of many. The idea of being one of these "superheroes" captivates me. They keep their pride while performing consequential actions needed for life. I don’t know what area I will specialize in. However, the decision will be made while facing my upcoming path in RUM. I strive on earning an M.D degree. I will remain open to unexpected future changes as oportunitues arise. 🩺
